That’s one thing I think OPPO has done right. Underneath all the shitposts, theme days and such, there’s a general appreciation for cars of any kind.

As long as it’s not poorly done and dangerous, most are okay with it

Yeah.

I really haven’t seen any negative comments about your car.

haha thanks.

I think thats because its on bags though.

Ive posted pics of what it looks like at my usual “drive” height, and its far from slammed or stanced or hellaflush LOL. Think 4 finger gap in the front, and 1 or 2 finger in the back....

While i like the look a little when stationary, I think its utterly foolish to drive in the same stance that i “hard park”

Im a Form Follows Function kind of guy. so if i have to dramatically change the way i function just for form... im not doing it.

My setup allows me to function as normal and reasonable as possible, while still being able to have the kind of form people can admire.

I also can’t drive on the street like im driving at some kind of track day or a race, so i chose something that i was comfortable, something nice and cushy that would be luxurious over the horrid roads around me that looked good and “mature” because i got tired of getting followed by cops and pulled over in my civic. (granted, i did have a ricey fart can exhaust, but no stickers, and only lowered with wheels and m3 style trunk spoiler and front lip.)

When i bought my car, Japanese VIP styling was just beginning to get noticed here in the US, so I figured i could still feed my addiction of modifying and working on my car, AND stand out and be unique while still having a classier image than that of a modded civic.

But i digress.

Driving a super cambered car with super stretched tires in bad weather is no fun. In the light rain its equivalent to driving on an icy road on summer tires IMO, despite what anyone says, it is dangerous not to mention super annoying. ( not that ive ever owned a car that was modded that way, but i have had to use other peoples cars that were, and man the added worry of getting into something with someone else’s car is not fun either...)

When people drive “stanced/slammed/hellaflush”on coilovers or springs, i dont envy them or think how cool they are or give them props for being brave enough to drive like that.

I just feel bad for the car. Bad like, how we feel when someone punches a dog or kicks a cat, bad.

TL;DR:

I think airsuspension is the only reasonable, sensible way to do “stanced/slammed/hellaflush” properly, because you can still drive normally and safely with out inconvenience to yourself and others, And get the look you want when parked at your local meet or car show...

There’s that.

And there’s also the guy I saw in the shitty, lowered Civic today with a cannon exhaust, hooning around busy streets and making a racket.

Maybe his idea of enjoying the car scene is being louder and more reckless than everyone else in an unsafe area. But what he’s doing is contributing to the bad name of all Civic enthusiasts, Honda enthusiasts, Japanese car enthusiasts and car enthusiasts in general. I see no reason why any of us should put up with that, and if not where do we draw the line?
